Read less. Know just as much.

CatchUpCast turns the newsletters piling up in one Gmail label into a single synthesized briefing — sent as email, or narrated as a private podcast for your commute.

Three things happen automatically

No app to check, nothing to triage by hand.

01

Label it once

Point one Gmail label at whatever you already subscribe to — newsletters, market updates, roundups. Nothing to migrate.

02

It's synthesized, not just summarized

Five emails covering the same story become one take — the actual point, not a side effect. When you'd rather keep each message distinct, that's CatchUpGist — below.

03

Read it or listen to it

A plain-text digest in your inbox, or a narrated episode in your podcast app — same synthesis, your choice of format.

Start small, or start all the way

One install either way — switch later without losing anything.

Lowest touch

Email digest

The fastest path in. Two accounts, about ten minutes.

  • Gmail + one LLM key, nothing else
  • A synthesized digest, twice a day, in your inbox
  • A few dollars a month to run
The full version

Private podcast

Everything above, narrated and published to a feed.

  • Adds Google Cloud (voice) and Cloudflare (hosting)
  • Subscribe in any podcast app you already use
  • About the same monthly cost as email-only

Two ways to catch up

Synthesis is the right answer for newsletters. It's the wrong answer for mail where each message matters on its own — so there's a tool for each. Pick whichever fits — you can run both, side by side — and we’ll tell you when they open.

Synthesized

CatchUpCast

For overlapping coverage — newsletters, market commentary, roundups.

  • Many emails become one briefing
  • Duplicates collapsed, disagreements called out
  • Email digest or private podcast

One at a time

CatchUpGist

For mail where merging loses the point — position updates, statements, anything you need message by message.

  • Each email distilled on its own, never merged
  • Author, address and original subject kept with every summary
  • Bundled into one mail for volume, still separate inside

Or skip the accounts entirely

Setting this up yourself means creating accounts with an AI provider, and for the podcast format with Google Cloud and Cloudflare too. That is most of the setup time, and it is the part nobody enjoys.

Self-hosted

Bring your own keys

  • Your own provider accounts and API keys
  • You pay each provider directly, at their retail price
  • Around $5 a month in practice

Subscription

We bring the keys

  • A Gmail App Password is the only key you create
  • We hold the provider relationships, and their cost
  • One bill, however many providers it takes

Tell me when it's ready

One email when the subscription opens, and nothing else. No newsletter, and the list is deleted once that mail has gone out.

It is the same app on the same machine either way — the difference is only your answer to the first question setup asks: a subscription, or your own AI key. The privacy boundary does not change: the hosted service is built never to store your email or the digest it produces.

Your inbox stays yours

This runs on hardware you control — a spare machine, a Raspberry Pi, whatever you've got. With your own keys, your email and your API keys never touch a server we operate. With a subscription, the text of the emails being summarized passes through our service to be summarized, and is not kept — your mail is still read on your own machine, and nothing else in your mailbox reaches us.
